Last night Whitney, Tyler and Charles and I had our first practice altogether in months.
It sounded really great, this is really exciting for me! We are playing tonight at the Charleston in Chicago’s Bucktown tonight. It will be a dress rehearal. For sure . Nice and mellow though. I am jetlagged at the right time for a change, up late which is perfect for a rock n roll lifestyle, so I hear.
Actually we are playing Lawrence KS on the 16th of March not 15th like it says down below!
Tommorow’s plan is to go to the area where they shot ‘The Piano’ Jane Campion’s film. I really wanted to go to one or more of New Zealand’s black sand beaches and I also love that movie! So luckily they are one in the same place.

Still in Sydney. Spending the next bunch of time swimming in the ocean, writing some songs, seeing loved ones… what else is there?
So I haven’t been writing as much as I wanted to but down under, it’s a bit harder. I don’t know why really. Maybe just travelling , it’s less attractive to sit infront of a computer. I check email only when I really should. Anyhow, the latest; finished shooting the ‘Fields’ video. Holy moly, that was a challenge, and not the acting part which I thought would be, but the temperature highs and lows, and regardless, I had to wear the same stuff picked out at the start. It was 3 days of shooting which I know is highly unusual. But the cinematography alone will make it worth watching. It is being made by Moopjaw.
It was fun seeing The Books play in Melbourne and yesterday I had a coffee with Vieux Farke Touré , Sydney Festival brings great people to the city and it’s a really fun time .

…is actually very old. But, you know, I don’t like complicated things actually, and something that’s been discontinued for about 10 years may suit me fiiiiiiiiiine.
Well, we already had a christmas day, this weekend we ate too much , drank, got/gave a few gifts, went to a cool house party, got up, ate again, drank again. For the gray , dismal day it was I felt suprisingly upbeat and I am as always , super in love with my Milwaukee friends who are always listening to great music, making us food or taking us to great places , and just general lots of fun to hang out with. Some of them own a bar called Burnhearts, we go there everytime, so check it out if you’re ever there or specifically in Bayview.
Unrelated, I took some pics of my friends screen printing table, her prints are awesome but so is this right?
